Monday

  • Level 1Ideal for those new to yoga, this class introduces basic alignment and breath, while keeping a moderate pace. She has always enjoyed nurturing her body, mind and spirit and sharing it through the creative mediums of theatre, dance and yoga. This naturally evolved from a childhood that was nourished by these self-expressions… profoundly affecting her life style, health, and the desire to share this joy and passion for life with others. She began studying yoga when she was in her teens and fell in love with the practice as it cultivated in her vibrant health and well-being.     Robyn.headshot.2014Robyn is the founder and director at Inner Freedom Yoga, an Anusara yoga instructor, teacher trainer, Hendricks Conscious Living and Loving Coach, yoga therapist and Hanna Somatic Educator (Somatics) who has been teaching yoga since 1994.  Her classes have a strong emphasis on alignment, creative sequencing, and pertinent life themes that inspire and touch the hearts of her students.  She offers modifications for students of all abilities.  Robyn has been on a journey of personal unfolding for over 25 years and is passionately committed to a life of joy, radiance and following the true wisdom of her heart while serving others.

  • All Levels in WesthavenFor all levels of students.  Poses may be sustained longer, discussed in greater detail, or strung together in flowing sequences. with JENNIFERJennifer LanceJennifer began practicing yoga in 1995 and was largely self-taught for the first decade of practice.  At the urging of her local mountain community, she began teaching sharing her love and knowledge of yoga without formal teacher training.  Ten years later in 2014, Jennifer fulfilled her goal and completed teacher training at Inner Freedom Yoga with Patrick and Robyn.  She is an avid hiker, former elementary school teacher, and mother. 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Westhaven Center for the Arts - WesthavenWesthaven Center for the Arts, 501 S. Tuesday

  • Level 1-2+Tends to be more challenging than Level 1-2 with a larger variety of poses and deeper back bends, inversions and arm balances. Poses may be sustained longer, discussed in greater detail, or strung together in flowing sequences.  with PATRICKIMG_0112Patrick Harestad is a Certified Anusara Yoga instructor, Board Certified Structural Integrator, (Kenesis Myofascial Integrator) and a Certified Massage Therapist. He has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2000, and Anusara Yoga since 2002. His love affair with yoga began at age 16 as a student of Swami Satchidananda, when he spent two years studying and practicing Integral Yoga. Since then, he has studied many forms of body/mind/spirit disciplines, including nine years of Aikido practice, (he holds a black belt), five years of Jui Jiutsu and decades of surfing. Since 1997, he has had a regular practice, which has included meditation, Ashtanga Yoga and Anusara Yoga styles. He has studied extensively with John Friend, creator of Anusara Yoga, since 2002, including Workshops, Teacher Training, Yoga Therapy trainings, retreats, and a Master Immersion (over 600 hours with John).  He has taught Yoga and Martial Arts both in the U.S. and in Brazil, where he spent two years living in a Buddhist retreat center with His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche. 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm Community Yoga Center - Arcata890 G St. Arcata, CA 95521

Poses may be sustained longer, discussed in greater detail, or strung together in flowing sequences.  with SHEMAIAShemaia IndiaShemaia Skywater is a yogini with more than 3 decades of yoga practice and teaching experience.  She has been a student of Anusara Yoga since 2001 and completed the Inner Freedom Yoga Immersion and Training in 2008, as well as the Inner Freedom Yoga Level 2 and Yoga Therapy trainings and attended hundreds of hours with other top Anusara instructors, including the founder.  She also has spent 25 years exploring music as a healing force and sampling the healing music and movement of many ancient traditions, and two decades learning, exploring practicing, researching, receiving training in sound healing modalities and therapeutics through sound. She is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, sound healing events.producer, body worker, and aromatherapy student. For all levels of students. Beginners welcome. Teachers offer options for different abilities.

Basics 1

Discounts: We offer discounts for full-time students and 65+ seniors (see our pricing list for details). Our sliding scale pricing policy makes yoga available to a wider range of students. Please pay at your income level to help support yoga for those of lesser means.

Holidays: All classes meet on holidays unless noted above.

Time Limits: Class Passes (except for Specials) expire one year after date of purchase. We are happy to adjust the one year time limit in cases of serious extended (over 2 months) illness or injury. Specials time limits are not adjustable.

Refunds: We do not offer refunds on unused classes, though they may be transferred to a friend with your consent.

Location & Parking: Through August 21:  Arcata Presbyterian Church Located at: Corner of 11th and G Streets, Arcata, CA.  Entrance on G St., across from Wells Fargo Bank.  Street parking available.

Mondays 6 p.m. in Westhaven:  The Westhaven Center for the Arts Located at: 501 S. Westhaven Drive. Free parking available in the lot.
