Class Descriptions

All Inner Freedom Yoga classes are taught in the Anusara style of yoga, emphasizing opening the heart, a refined system of alignment, and the celebration of community.

All Levels

For all levels of students. Beginners welcome. Teachers offer options for different abilities.

Basics 1

Focuses on basic postures and breath, flexibility, strength-building and Anusara alignment. This class is perfect for beginners and continuing students who are especially stiff, have injuries or health issues, and for anyone wanting a slower class. Instructors adjust the level to the students, offering options as needed.

Basics/Restorative

This Basics class ends with about 15 minutes of restorative yoga poses.  Restorative yoga uses props like multiple blankets or blocks and straps to hold relaxing and gentle poses for longer periods. It is deeply relaxing to the body and mind.

Breath and Meditation

Learn simple yogic breathing (pranayama) and meditation practices from the Tantric tradition to open your energy channels,  balance your system, calm your mind and increase peace. Includes some gentle movement to prepare the body for sitting. Enjoy group support.  No experience necessary. $5

Class starts with a 10 – 15 minute talk and discussion, bringing yogic wisdom into daily life.  After a short stretch break, we’ll move into pranayama practices followed by a 25-minute meditation.

Meditation and pranayama practices have been studied extensively and used for millennium in the Indian traditions. They are shown to produce calm states of mind, to reduce anxiety and stress and promote greater well-being. They may reduce depression, blood pressure, insomnia, and other health symptoms.

Tantra means a technology for expansion (of consciousness).  It is a branch of yogic that emphasizes body-based practices for expanding your consciousness and knowing your true nature as Divine, whole and perfect.  Robyn finds Tantric breath and meditation practices to be an indispensable part of her daily life. It offers her a sense of inner peace and connection to her Essence in a way that nothing else can.  In this class, she hopes to offer you practices that help you find a deep sense of Home in your being.
