Coming Home Course and Opening Up

 In blog

Robyn Retreat.2015      This upcoming new course, called Come Home to Yourself, a Self-empowerment Journey for Women, feels like the new baby that I’m birthing; a synthesis of my favorite loves: yoga philosophy, meditation, pranayama (yogic breathing), Hendricks practices and movement. Since my recent 6-day solo meditation retreat, I got a clarity about how essential mediation and pranayama will be for our course, in addition to Hendricks tools and some recommended reading as well. I spent hours meditating, writing, contemplating and practicing pranayama and yoga every day. My last 2 and 1/2 years with the Hendricks, and practices like these have brought me a great sense of Home inside myself, and I want to share these practices with you. In fact, I’m rather blown away at my experience in this last retreat, post-graduation from my Hendricks training. I’ve done several retreats in the past, but this time, I felt a deeper sense of ease and peace in my being than ever before. I truly think this is the result of all my trainings with the Hendricks, in addition to my other practices. Through my trainings, I learned to soften, to love myself, and to generally make more space inside myself. To me, that means, I’m easier with myself, less critical, more compassionate and spacious. I also have a greater sense of confidence in my gifts, my strengths, my safety, and my general lovability. It’s come with lots of practice over time, and much surrendering, feedback and support. And I know there’s lots more unwinding to to do- of old patterns that block my way.
But what I know is this: my passion and purpose is to share this work with others, and especially women. (I think there’s something special that happens when women come together to grow and support each other, and that’s why I’m choosing at this point, to keep this group to women only).
I want to create a safe container for women to do their inner work, to support one another in breaking free from old ways of being and stepping into greater confidence, inner freedom and joy. I think we grow faster with support and feedback from others, and it’s more fun too!  And we will definitely be having some fun together.  I want to see women stand in their light and power and bring these into the world in their own enlivened ways. And I think these practices along with a strong container for transformation, are a great way to do that.
I love supporting groups and sharing this work, and I know it is my calling to bring these tools together in this unique way. I’m also excited to be inviting some guests into our group to offer their special gifts. Currently, Lama Choyang, a local teacher of Tibetan Buddhism, will join us in February for a very sweet teaching and meditation practice. I’ve sent some other invitations and am waiting to see who else will join us.

What you can expect each time we meet in person: group coaching and support, guided meditation and pranyama sessions, some yoga philosophy, movement sessions, and learning of Hendricks tools that unleash your aliveness and creativity. The monthly phone calls will be a time to ask questions, discuss your practices and get coaching.

Already our sweet group is forming. I’m excited to see who else will come along for this great adventure of unfolding into ease and joy.
