Class Descriptions:
Anusara Basics: Focuses on basic postures and breath, flexibility, strength-building and Anusara alignment. This class is perfect for beginners and continuing students who are especially stiff, have injuries or health issues, and for anyone wanting to move more slowly.
Level 1: Ideal for those new to yoga, this class introduces basic alignment and breath, while keeping a moderate pace. Classses focus on alignment, strengthening, breath, ease, saftey and stability in the basic yoga poses.
Level 1-2: Classes welcome all levels of students, but generally geared for experienced beginners. Poses may be sustained longer, disucssed in greater detail, or be strung together in flowing sequences.
Level 1-2+: Tends to be more challenging and up-beat.
Level 2: For intermediate students with at least 1 year of regular hatha yoga practice and familiarity with advanced sun salutation, standing poses, full backbends and inversions such as handstand, headstand and forearm balance. Classes build the "inner fire" often with dynamic vinyasa (flow) sequences and practice of more challenging variations of all classes of poses with greater attention to refining alignment and breath. Some pranayama exercises and meditation included.
