Meet Amy Day – new IFY Teacher!

 In blog

Amy Day is no stranger to the Inner Freedom Yoga family and we are so happy to officially welcome her as a new teacher at the studio. She is a beautiful being and teaches an all-levels class on Mondays at 6 p.m. at our Westhaven location. Check out her story below and join her in your journey!

amydayAmy Day has had the pleasure and privilege of teaching yoga for the past 5 years.  After studying music and theater into her mid-twenties, Life handed her the opportunity to switch gears and focus on the healing arts, particularly the beautiful Art of Asana, the dance of Breath and playful Flowing Meditation that is Yoga. She received her 200-hour training under the guidance of Peggy Profant  in 2010.  Since then, she has gone on to take additional trainings from wonderful local and out-of-area teachers as well, including, Robyn Smith and Patrick Harestad, and continues to be inspired by the work of her first teacher, Heather Heintz, a student of Darren Rhodes, Christina Sell & Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, where her practice began to bloom, in her once home on the Big Island of Hawaii. Amy approaches the work on the mat with a hefty dose of play, sweat and reverence, inspiring her students to do the same.  She believes the mat is the powerful playground wherein we can cultivate the depth, grit and beauty needed to transform not only ourselves, but the world around us.  She looks forward to witnessing and aiding in your journey.
