Happy Samhain!

 In blog

Happy Samhain (pronounced Sow-In). Samhain is the Celtic festival of endings and new beginnings from Oct. 31 – Nov. 1 and said to be one of the roots of Halloween. It’s the end of Harvest season and the beginning of going inwards for winter. It is said that the veil between the worlds (this one and “other” worlds) is thin at this time of year, end of October and early November. And therefore, it’s a great time to send out prayers to the Spirit realm, especially for your hopes and dreams for new beginnings. It’s also a great time to connect with the spirit of those who’ve passed from this realm as they’re more likely to “hear” you. Yoga tunes us in. Through the practice, we become more sensitive and aware, not only of ourselves, but of others and all the energies around us. So this special window during and on either side of Samhain, is an excellent time to take advantage of the thinning of the veils.

Connect to a Beloved Ancestor: Make time to sit in meditation and conjure up the memory of a great being who has passed. Imagine them sitting in front of you. Tune into their essence and bring them into your heart. Feel the quality of your love for them. Acknowledge how they helped you and loved you. Then send them your gratitude for all you received. May you have a clear and joyful connection to yourself and all beings.Happy Samhain (pronounced Sow-In).
